Paxip1 | PAX-interacting protein 1; Involved in DNA damage response and in transcriptional regulation through histone methyltransferase (HMT) complexes such as the MLL2/MLL3 complex. Plays a role in early development. In DNA damage response is required for cell survival after ionizing radiation. In vitro shown to be involved in the homologous recombination mechanism for the repair of double-strand breaks (DSBs). Its localization to DNA damage foci requires Rnf8 and Ube2n. Recruits Tp53bp1 to DNA damage foci and, at least in particular repair processes, effective DNA damage response appears to r [...] (1056 aa) | ||||
Senp1 | Sentrin-specific protease 1; Protease that catalyzes two essential functions in the SUMO pathway. The first is the hydrolysis of an alpha-linked peptide bond at the C-terminal end of the small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) propeptides, SUMO1, SUMO2 and SUMO3 leading to the mature form of the proteins. The second is the deconjugation of SUMO1, SUMO2 and SUMO3 from targeted proteins, by cleaving an epsilon-linked peptide bond between the C-terminal glycine of the mature SUMO and the lysine epsilon-amino group of the target protein. Deconjugates SUMO1 from HIPK2 (By similarity). Deconjug [...] (640 aa) |
