Rfx2 | DNA-binding protein RFX2; Transcription factor that acts as a key regulator of spermatogenesis. Acts by regulating expression of genes required for the haploid phase during spermiogenesis, such as genes required for cilium assembly and function. Recognizes and binds the X-box, a regulatory motif with DNA sequence 5'-GTNRCC(0-3N)RGYAAC-3' present on promoters. Probably activates transcription of the testis-specific histone gene HIST1H1T. Belongs to the RFX family. (717 aa) | ||||
Sctr | Secretin receptor; Receptor for secretin (SCT), which is involved in different processes such as regulation of the pH of the duodenal content, food intake and water homeostasis. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. Upon binding to secretin, regulates the pH of the duodenum by (1) inhibiting the secretion of gastric acid from the parietal cells of the stomach and (2) stimulating the production of bicarbonate (NaHCO(3)) from the ductal cells of the pancreas (By similarity). In addition to regulating the pH of the duodenal content, plays [...] (464 aa) |
