Supt16 | FACT complex subunit SPT16; Component of the FACT complex, a general chromatin factor that acts to reorganize nucleosomes. The FACT complex is involved in multiple processes that require DNA as a template such as mRNA elongation, DNA replication and DNA repair. During transcription elongation the FACT complex acts as a histone chaperone that both destabilizes and restores nucleosomal structure. It facilitates the passage of RNA polymerase II and transcription by promoting the dissociation of one histone H2A-H2B dimer from the nucleosome, then subsequently promotes the reestablishment o [...] (1047 aa) | ||||
Mybbp1a | Myb-binding protein 1A; May activate or repress transcription via interactions with sequence specific DNA-binding proteins. Repression may be mediated at least in part by histone deacetylase activity (HDAC activity). Acts as a corepressor and in concert with CRY1, represses the transcription of the core circadian clock component PER2. Preferentially binds to dimethylated histone H3 'Lys-9' (H3K9me2) on the PER2 promoter. Has a role in rRNA biogenesis together with PWP1 (By similarity). Belongs to the MYBBP1A family. (1344 aa) |
