Runx3 | Runt-related transcription factor 3; Forms the heterodimeric complex core-binding factor (CBF) with CBFB. RUNX members modulate the transcription of their target genes through recognizing the core consensus binding sequence 5'- TGTGGT-3', or very rarely, 5'-TGCGGT-3', within their regulatory regions via their runt domain, while CBFB is a non-DNA-binding regulatory subunit that allosterically enhances the sequence-specific DNA-binding capacity of RUNX. The heterodimers bind to the core site of a number of enhancers and promoters, including murine leukemia virus, polyomavirus enhancer, T [...] (423 aa) | ||||
Crem | cAMP-responsive element modulator; Transcriptional regulator that binds the cAMP response element (CRE), a sequence present in many viral and cellular promoters. Isoforms are either transcriptional activators or repressors. Isoform 2, isoform 3 and isoform 4 are repressors, while isoform 1 is an activator. Plays a role in spermatogenesis and is involved in spermatid maturation. Binding of isoform 1 (activator) to CRE is increased by CREB3L4. The CREM isoform 1-CREB3L4 heterodimer functions through CRE and may recruit HIRA to CRE to regulate histone exchange ; Belongs to the bZIP family. (357 aa) |
