Eed | Polycomb protein EED; Polycomb group (PcG) protein. Component of the PRC2/EED-EZH2 complex, which methylates 'Lys-9' and 'Lys-27' of histone H3, leading to transcriptional repression of the affected target gene. Also recognizes 'Lys-26' trimethylated histone H1 with the effect of inhibiting PRC2 complex methyltransferase activity on nucleosomal histone H3 'Lys-27', whereas H3 'Lys-27' recognition has the opposite effect, enabling the propagation of this repressive mark (By similarity). The PRC2/EED-EZH2 complex may also serve as a recruiting platform for DNA methyltransferases, thereby [...] (441 aa) | ||||
Nudt10 | Diphosphoinositol polyphosphate phosphohydrolase 3-alpha; Cleaves a beta-phosphate from the diphosphate groups in PP- InsP5 (diphosphoinositol pentakisphosphate), suggesting that it may play a role in signal transduction. Also able to catalyze the hydrolysis of dinucleoside oligophosphates, with Ap6A and Ap5A being the preferred substrates. The major reaction products are ADP and p4a from Ap6A and ADP and ATP from Ap5A. Also able to hydrolyze 5- phosphoribose 1-diphosphate; however, the relevance of such activity in vivo remains unclear; Belongs to the Nudix hydrolase family. DIPP subfamily. (164 aa) |
