Max | Protein max; Transcription regulator. Forms a sequence-specific DNA- binding protein complex with MYC or MAD which recognizes the core sequence 5'-CAC[GA]TG-3'. The MYC:MAX complex is a transcriptional activator, whereas the MAD:MAX complex is a repressor. CpG methylation of the recognition site greatly inhibits DNA binding, suggesting that DNA methylation may regulate the MYC:MAX complex in vivo. May repress transcription via the recruitment of a chromatin remodeling complex containing H3 'Lys-9' histone methyltransferase activity. Represses MYC transcriptional activity from E-box ele [...] (160 aa) | ||||
Ncapg2 | Condensin-2 complex subunit G2; Regulatory subunit of the condensin-2 complex, a complex which establishes mitotic chromosome architecture and is involved in physical rigidity of the chromatid axis. Is required for early embryonic development and is essential for viability and expansion of the inner cell mass (ICM) of the implanting blastocyst. (1138 aa) |
