Max | Protein max; Transcription regulator. Forms a sequence-specific DNA- binding protein complex with MYC or MAD which recognizes the core sequence 5'-CAC[GA]TG-3'. The MYC:MAX complex is a transcriptional activator, whereas the MAD:MAX complex is a repressor. CpG methylation of the recognition site greatly inhibits DNA binding, suggesting that DNA methylation may regulate the MYC:MAX complex in vivo. May repress transcription via the recruitment of a chromatin remodeling complex containing H3 'Lys-9' histone methyltransferase activity. Represses MYC transcriptional activity from E-box ele [...] (160 aa) | ||||
Lsm11 | U7 snRNA-associated Sm-like protein LSm11; Component of the U7 snRNP complex that is involved in the histone 3'-end pre-mRNA processing. Increases U7 snRNA levels but not histone 3'-end pre-mRNA processing activity, when overexpressed. Required for cell cycle progression from G1 to S phases. Binds specifically to the Sm-binding site of U7 snRNA. (361 aa) |
