Zfp281 | Zinc finger protein 281; Transcription repressor that plays a role in regulation of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) differentiation. Required for ESCs differentiation and acts by mediating autorepression of NANOG in ESCs: binds to the NANOG promoter and promotes association of NANOG protein to its own promoter and recruits the NuRD complex, which deacetylates histones. Not required for establishement and maintenance of ESCs. Represses the transcription of a number of genes including GAST, ODC1 and VIM. Binds to the G-rich box in the enhancer region of these genes. Hs2st1 | Heparan sulfate 2-O-sulfotransferase 1; Catalyzes the transfer of sulfate to the C2-position of selected hexuronic acid residues within the maturing heparan sulfate (HS). 2-O-sulfation within HS, particularly of iduronate residues, is essential for HS to participate in a variety of high-affinity ligand- binding interactions and signaling processes. Required for metanephric development of kidney formation, suggesting that 2-O-sulfation within HS is essential for signaling between ureteric bud and metanephric mesenchyme. Mediates 2-O-sulfation of both L-iduronyl and D-glucuronyl residues [...] (356 aa) |
