Zfp281 | Zinc finger protein 281; Transcription repressor that plays a role in regulation of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) differentiation. Required for ESCs differentiation and acts by mediating autorepression of NANOG in ESCs: binds to the NANOG promoter and promotes association of NANOG protein to its own promoter and recruits the NuRD complex, which deacetylates histones. Not required for establishement and maintenance of ESCs. Represses the transcription of a number of genes including GAST, ODC1 and VIM. Binds to the G-rich box in the enhancer region of these genes. Asxl1 | Polycomb group protein ASXL1; Probable Polycomb group (PcG) protein involved in transcriptional regulation mediated by ligand-bound retinoic acid receptors (RARs) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARG). Acts as a coactivator of RARA and RXRA through association with NCOA1. Acts as a corepressor for PPARG and suppresses its adipocyte differentiation-inducing activity. Non-catalytic component of the PR-DUB complex, a complex that specifically mediates deubiquitination of histone H2A monoubiquitinated at 'Lys-119' (H2AK119ub1) (By similarity). Acts as a sensor of N(6 [...] (1514 aa) |
