Zfp281 | Zinc finger protein 281; Transcription repressor that plays a role in regulation of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) differentiation. Required for ESCs differentiation and acts by mediating autorepression of NANOG in ESCs: binds to the NANOG promoter and promotes association of NANOG protein to its own promoter and recruits the NuRD complex, which deacetylates histones. Not required for establishement and maintenance of ESCs. Represses the transcription of a number of genes including GAST, ODC1 and VIM. Binds to the G-rich box in the enhancer region of these genes. Zfp219 | Zinc finger protein 219; Transcriptional regulator. Recognizes and binds 2 copies of the core DNA sequence motif 5'-GGGGG-3'. Binds to the HMGN1 promoter and may repress HMGN1 expression (By similarity). Regulates SNCA expression in primary cortical neurons (By similarity). Binds to the COL2A1 promoter and activates COL2A1 expression, as part of a complex with SOX9. Plays a role in chondrocyte differentiation ; Belongs to the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. (726 aa) |
