SUZ12 | Polycomb protein SUZ12; Polycomb group (PcG) protein. Component of the PRC2/EED-EZH2 complex, which methylates 'Lys-9' (H3K9me) and 'Lys-27' (H3K27me) of histone H3, leading to transcriptional repression of the affected target gene. The PRC2/EED-EZH2 complex may also serve as a recruiting platform for DNA methyltransferases, thereby linking two epigenetic repression systems. Genes repressed by the PRC2/EED-EZH2 complex include HOXC8, HOXA9, MYT1 and CDKN2A. (739 aa) | ||||
MACROD1 | ADP-ribose glycohydrolase MACROD1; Removes ADP-ribose from asparatate and glutamate residues in proteins bearing a single ADP-ribose moiety. Inactive towards proteins bearing poly-ADP-ribose. Deacetylates O-acetyl-ADP ribose, a signaling molecule generated by the deacetylation of acetylated lysine residues in histones and other proteins. Plays a role in estrogen signaling. Binds to androgen receptor (AR) and amplifies the transactivation function of AR in response to androgen. May play an important role in carcinogenesis and/or progression of hormone-dependent cancers by feed-forward m [...] (325 aa) |
