GLYR1 | Putative oxidoreductase GLYR1; Nucleosome-destabilizing factor that is recruited to genes during transcriptional activation. Facilitates Pol II transcription through nucleosomes. Binds DNA (in vitro). Recognizes and binds trimethylated 'Lys-36' of histone H3 (H3K36me3). Promotes KDM1B demethylase activity. Stimulates the acetylation of 'Lys-56' of nucleosomal histone H3 (H3K56ac) by EP300. Regulates p38 MAP kinase activity by mediating stress activation of p38alpha/MAPK14 and specifically regulating MAPK14 signaling. Indirectly promotes phosphorylation of MAPK14 and activation of ATF2. TDP2 | Tyrosyl-DNA phosphodiesterase 2; DNA repair enzyme that can remove a variety of covalent adducts from DNA through hydrolysis of a 5'-phosphodiester bond, giving rise to DNA with a free 5' phosphate. Catalyzes the hydrolysis of dead- end complexes between DNA and the topoisomerase 2 (TOP2) active site tyrosine residue. The 5'-tyrosyl DNA phosphodiesterase activity can enable the repair of TOP2-induced DNA double-strand breaks/DSBs without the need for nuclease activity, creating a 'clean' DSB with 5'- phosphate termini that are ready for ligation. Thereby, protects the transcription of [...] (362 aa) |
