MAX | Protein max; Transcription regulator. Forms a sequence-specific DNA- binding protein complex with MYC or MAD which recognizes the core sequence 5'-CAC[GA]TG-3'. The MYC:MAX complex is a transcriptional activator, whereas the MAD:MAX complex is a repressor. May repress transcription via the recruitment of a chromatin remodeling complex containing H3 'Lys-9' histone methyltransferase activity. Represses MYC transcriptional activity from E-box elements. FRMD5 | FERM domain-containing protein 5; May be involved in regulation of cell migration. May regulate cell-matrix interactions via its interaction with ITGB5 and modifying ITGB5 cytoplasmic tail interactions such as with FERMT2 and TLN1. May regulate ROCK1 kinase activity possibly involved in regulation of actin stress fiber formation. (570 aa) |
