RBL1 | Retinoblastoma-like protein 1; Key regulator of entry into cell division. Directly involved in heterochromatin formation by maintaining overall chromatin structure and, in particular, that of constitutive heterochromatin by stabilizing histone methylation (By similarity). Recruits and targets histone methyltransferases KMT5B and KMT5C, leading to epigenetic transcriptional repression (By similarity). Controls histone H4 'Lys-20' trimethylation (By similarity). Probably acts as a transcription repressor by recruiting chromatin-modifying enzymes to promoters (By similarity). Potent inhib [...] (1068 aa) | ||||
CENPC | Centromere protein C; Component of the CENPA-NAC (nucleosome-associated) complex, a complex that plays a central role in assembly of kinetochore proteins, mitotic progression and chromosome segregation. The CENPA-NAC complex recruits the CENPA-CAD (nucleosome distal) complex and may be involved in incorporation of newly synthesized CENPA into centromeres. CENPC recruits DNA methylation and DNMT3B to both centromeric and pericentromeric satellite repeats and regulates the histone code in these regions. (943 aa) |
