NELFE | Negative elongation factor E; Essential component of the NELF complex, a complex that negatively regulates the elongation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. The NELF complex, which acts via an association with the DSIF complex and causes transcriptional pausing, is counteracted by the P-TEFb kinase complex. Provides the strongest RNA binding activity of the NELF complex and may initially recruit the NELF complex to RNA. Belongs to the RRM NELF-E family. (380 aa) | ||||
USPL1 | SUMO-specific isopeptidase USPL1; SUMO-specific isopeptidase involved in protein desumoylation. Specifically binds SUMO proteins with a higher affinity for SUMO2 and SUMO3 which it cleaves more efficiently. Also able to process full- length SUMO proteins to their mature forms. Plays a key role in RNA polymerase-II-mediated snRNA transcription in the Cajal bodies. Is a component of complexes that can bind to U snRNA genes. (1092 aa) |
