SAFB | Scaffold attachment factor B1; Binds to scaffold/matrix attachment region (S/MAR) DNA and forms a molecular assembly point to allow the formation of a 'transcriptosomal' complex (consisting of SR proteins and RNA polymerase II) coupling transcription and RNA processing (By similarity). Can function as an estrogen receptor corepressor and can also bind to the HSP27 promoter and decrease its transcription. When associated with RBMX, binds to and stimulates transcription from the SREBF1 promoter (By similarity). Can inhibit cell proliferation. (917 aa) | ||||
BLVRB | Flavin reductase (NADPH); Broad specificity oxidoreductase that catalyzes the NADPH- dependent reduction of a variety of flavins, such as riboflavin, FAD or FMN, biliverdins, methemoglobin and PQQ (pyrroloquinoline quinone). Contributes to heme catabolism and metabolizes linear tetrapyrroles. Can also reduce the complexed Fe(3+) iron to Fe(2+) in the presence of FMN and NADPH. In the liver, converts biliverdin to bilirubin. (206 aa) |
