"HABP2" - hyaluronan binding protein 2 in Homo sapiens
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Size
small protein node
small nodes:
protein of unknown 3D structure
large protein node
large nodes:
some 3D structure is known or predicted
Node Color
colored protein node
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
non-colored protein node
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding each other.
Known Interactions
database edge
from curated databases
experiment edge
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
neighborhood edge
gene neighborhood
fusion edge
gene fusions
cooccurrence edge
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining edge
textmining
coexpression edge
co-expression
homology edge
protein homology

Score
HABP2hyaluronan binding protein 2; Cleaves the alpha-chain at multiple sites and the beta- chain between ’Lys-53’ and ’Lys-54’ but not the gamma-chain of fibrinogen and therefore does not initiate the formation of the fibrin clot and does not cause the fibrinolysis directly. It does not cleave (activate) prothrombin and plasminogen but converts the inactive single chain urinary plasminogen activator (pro- urokinase) to the active two chain form. Activates coagulation factor VII (560 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
SERPINE1
serpin peptidase inhibitor, clade E (nexin, plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1), member 1; Serine protease inhibitor. This inhibitor acts as ’bait’ for tissue plasminogen activator, urokinase, protein C and matriptase-3/TMPRSS7. Its rapid interaction with PLAT may function as a major control point in the regulation of fibrinolysis (402 aa)

FGB
fibrinogen beta chain; Fibrinogen has a double function- yielding monomers that polymerize into fibrin and acting as a cofactor in platelet aggregation (491 aa)
            score_image   0.752
FGG
fibrinogen gamma chain (453 aa)
            score_image   0.751
FGA
fibrinogen alpha chain; Fibrinogen has a double function- yielding monomers that polymerize into fibrin and acting as a cofactor in platelet aggregation (866 aa)
            score_image   0.741
HAS3
hyaluronan synthase 3; Plays a role in hyaluronan/hyaluronic acid (HA) synthesis (553 aa)
            score_image   0.705
HAS2
hyaluronan synthase 2; Plays a role in hyaluronan/hyaluronic acid (HA) synthesis (552 aa)
            score_image   0.696
HAS1
hyaluronan synthase 1; Plays a role in hyaluronan/hyaluronic acid (HA) synthesis. Also able to catalyze the synthesis of chito- oligosaccharide depending on the substrate (578 aa)
            score_image   0.682
HRG
histidine-rich glycoprotein; Plasma glycoprotein that binds a number of ligands such as heme, heparin, heparan sulfate, thrombospondin, plasminogen, and divalent metal ions. Binds heparin and heparin/glycosaminoglycans in a zinc-dependent manner. Binds heparan sulfate on the surface of liver, lung, kidney and heart endothelial cells. Binds to N-sulfated polysaccharide chains on the surface of liver endothelial cells. Inhibits rosette formation. Acts as an adapter protein and is implicated in regulating many processes such as immune complex and pathogen clearance, cell chemotaxis, cell [...] (525 aa)
            score_image   0.655
KNG1
kininogen 1; (1) Kininogens are inhibitors of thiol proteases; (2) HMW-kininogen plays an important role in blood coagulation by helping to position optimally prekallikrein and factor XI next to factor XII; (3) HMW-kininogen inhibits the thrombin- and plasmin- induced aggregation of thrombocytes; (4) the active peptide bradykinin that is released from HMW-kininogen shows a variety of physiological effects- (4A) influence in smooth muscle contraction, (4B) induction of hypotension, (4C) natriuresis and diuresis, (4D) decrease in blood glucose level, (4E) it is a mediator of inflammation [...] (644 aa)

SERPIND1
serpin peptidase inhibitor, clade D (heparin cofactor), member 1; Thrombin inhibitor activated by the glycosaminoglycans, heparin or dermatan sulfate. In the presence of the latter, HC-II becomes the predominant thrombin inhibitor in place of antithrombin III (AT-III). Also inhibits chymotrypsin, but in a glycosaminoglycan-independent manner (499 aa)
