"ANG" - angiogenin, ribonuclease, RNase A family, 5 in Homo sapiens
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Size
small protein node
small nodes:
protein of unknown 3D structure
large protein node
large nodes:
some 3D structure is known or predicted
Node Color
colored protein node
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
non-colored protein node
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding each other.
Known Interactions
database edge
from curated databases
experiment edge
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
neighborhood edge
gene neighborhood
fusion edge
gene fusions
cooccurrence edge
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining edge
textmining
coexpression edge
co-expression
homology edge
protein homology

ANGangiogenin, ribonuclease, RNase A family, 5; Binds to actin on the surface of endothelial cells; once bound, angiogenin is endocytosed and translocated to the nucleus. Stimulates ribosomal RNA synthesis including that containing the initiation site sequences of 45S rRNA. Cleaves tRNA within anticodon loops to produce tRNA-derived stress-induced fragments (tiRNAs) which inhibit protein synthesis and triggers the assembly of stress granules (SGs). Angiogenin induces vascularization of normal and malignant tissues. Angiogenic activity is regulated by interaction with RNH1 in vivo (147 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
RNH1
ribonuclease/angiogenin inhibitor 1; Ribonuclease inhibitor which inhibits RNASE1, RNASE2 and ANG. May play a role in redox homeostasis (461 aa)
        score_image score_image score_image   0.997
VEGFA
vascular endothelial growth factor A (412 aa)
            score_image   0.767
RNASE8
ribonuclease, RNase A family, 8; Has a low ribonuclease activity (154 aa)
            score_image   0.747
TARDBP
TAR DNA binding protein (414 aa)
            score_image   0.681
RNASE6
ribonuclease, RNase A family, k6; May have a role in host defense (150 aa)
            score_image   0.674
SOD1
superoxide dismutase 1, soluble; Destroys radicals which are normally produced within the cells and which are toxic to biological systems (By similarity) (154 aa)
            score_image   0.664
FUS
fused in sarcoma; Binds both single-stranded and double-stranded DNA and promotes ATP-independent annealing of complementary single- stranded DNAs and D-loop formation in superhelical double-stranded DNA. May play a role in maintenance of genomic integrity (526 aa)
            score_image   0.661
FST
follistatin; Binds directly to activin and functions as an activin antagonist. Specific inhibitor of the biosynthesis and secretion of pituitary follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) (344 aa)
        score_image   score_image   0.647
SELV
selenoprotein V ; May be involved in a redox-related process (Potential) (346 aa)
            score_image   0.634
TP53
tumor protein p53; Acts as a tumor suppressor in many tumor types; induces growth arrest or apoptosis depending on the physiological circumstances and cell type. Involved in cell cycle regulation as a trans-activator that acts to negatively regulate cell division by controlling a set of genes required for this process. One of the activated genes is an inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinases. Apoptosis induction seems to be mediated either by stimulation of BAX and FAS antigen expression, or by repression of Bcl-2 expression (By similarity) (393 aa)
