STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

rnpARibonuclease P protein component; RNaseP catalyzes the removal of the 5'-leader sequence from pre-tRNA to produce the mature 5'-terminus. It can also cleave other RNA substrates such as 4.5S RNA. The protein component plays an auxiliary but essential role in vivo by binding to the 5'-leader sequence and broadening the substrate specificity of the ribozyme. (108 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
rpmH
Original (2000) note: Cj0961c, rpmH, 50S ribosomal protein L34, len: 44 aa; highly similar to many e.g. RL34_ECOLI 50S ribosomal protein L34 (46 aa), fasta scores; opt: 196 z-score: 321.0 E(): 1.4e-10, 65.9% identity in 44 aa overlap. 90.9% identity to HP1447. Contains PS00784 Ribosomal protein L34 signature, and Pfam match to entry PF00468 L34, Ribosomal protein L34; Updated (2006) note: Characterised in Escherichia coli with acceptable identity score, so putative not added to product function. Functional classification - Ribosomal protein synthesis and modification; PMID:6329723.

Cj0959c
Conserved hypothetical protein Cj0959c; Could be involved in insertion of integral membrane proteins into the membrane; Belongs to the UPF0161 family.

 0.987
yidC
Putative membrane protein; Required for the insertion and/or proper folding and/or complex formation of integral membrane proteins into the membrane. Involved in integration of membrane proteins that insert both dependently and independently of the Sec translocase complex, as well as at least some lipoproteins. Aids folding of multispanning membrane proteins.

trmE
Putative tRNA modification GTPase; Exhibits a very high intrinsic GTPase hydrolysis rate. Involved in the addition of a carboxymethylaminomethyl (cmnm) group at the wobble position (U34) of certain tRNAs, forming tRNA- cmnm(5)s(2)U34; Belongs to the TRAFAC class TrmE-Era-EngA-EngB-Septin-like GTPase superfamily. TrmE GTPase family.

rpsJ
30S ribosomal protein S10; Involved in the binding of tRNA to the ribosomes. Belongs to the universal ribosomal protein uS10 family.

    0.822
rplD
50S ribosomal protein L4; One of the primary rRNA binding proteins, this protein initially binds near the 5'-end of the 23S rRNA. It is important during the early stages of 50S assembly. It makes multiple contacts with different domains of the 23S rRNA in the assembled 50S subunit and ribosome (By similarity).

 0.817
rpsL
30S ribosomal protein S12; With S4 and S5 plays an important role in translational accuracy.

    0.813
rplC
50S ribosomal protein L3; One of the primary rRNA binding proteins, it binds directly near the 3'-end of the 23S rRNA, where it nucleates assembly of the 50S subunit; Belongs to the universal ribosomal protein uL3 family.

 0.810
rpsT
30S ribosomal protein S20; Binds directly to 16S ribosomal RNA.
