Known metabolic pathways, protein complexes, signal transduction pathways, etc ... from curated databases.
Genes that are sometimes fused into single open reading frames.
STRING allows inspection of the interaction evidence for any given network. Choose any of the viewers above (disabled if not applicable in your network).
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
colored nodes: query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes: second shell of interactors
empty nodes: proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes: some 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding each other.

Predicted protein (357 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
Urea carboxylase (1251 aa)
Predicted protein (623 aa)
Full-length thiazole biosynthetic enzyme; Involved in biosynthesis of the thiamine precursor thiazole. Catalyzes the conversion of NAD and glycine to adenosine diphosphate 5-(2-hydroxyethyl)-4-methylthiazole-2-carboxylic acid (ADT), an adenylated thiazole intermediate. The reaction includes an iron-dependent sulfide transfer from a conserved cysteine residue of the protein to a thiazole intermediate. The enzyme can only undergo a single turnover, which suggests it is a suicide enzyme. May have additional roles in adaptation to various stress conditions and in DNA damage tolerance (357 aa)
Predicted protein (176 aa)
Thioredoxin-related protein CITRX (183 aa)
Predicted protein (307 aa)
Mitochondrial F1F0 ATP synthase associated 31.2 kDa protein (325 aa)
