ELF5A-1Encodes eukaryotic translation initiation factor 5A (EIF-5A).In mammalian cells it functions as a shuttle protein that translocates mRNA from the nucleus to cytoplasmic ribosomes. Overexpression results in an increase in both primary and secondary xylem formation. In RNAi suppressed lines, xylem formation is reduced (158 aa)
