STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
some 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

mtrTryptophan transporter of high affinity; Involved in transporting tryptophan across the cytoplasmic membrane (414 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
tyrR
Involved in transcriptional regulation of aromatic amino acid biosynthesis and transport. Modulates the expression of at least 8 unlinked operons. Seven of these operons are regulated in response to changes in the concentration of the three aromatic amino acids (phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan). These amino acids are suggested to act as co-effectors which bind to the TyrR protein to form an active regulatory protein. In most cases TyrR causes negative regulation, but positive effects on the tyrP gene have been observed at high phenylalanine concentrations

 0.884
aroP
Aromatic amino acid transport protein arop; Permease that is involved in the transport across the cytoplasmic membrane of the aromatic amino acids (phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan)

 0.877
trpR
Trpr family transcriptional regulator, trp operon repressor; This protein is an aporepressor. When complexed with L- tryptophan it binds the operator region of the trp operon (5'- ACTAGT-'3') and prevents the initiation of transcription. The complex also regulates trp repressor biosynthesis by binding to its regulatory region

 0.845
tnaA
Tryptophanase/l-cysteine desulfhydrase, plp-dependent; Belongs to the beta-eliminating lyase family

 0.797
aroH
3-deoxy-D-arabino-heptulosonate-7-phosphate synthase, tryptophan repressible; Stereospecific condensation of phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) and D-erythrose-4-phosphate (E4P) giving rise to 3-deoxy-D-arabino- heptulosonate-7-phosphate (DAHP)

 0.750
aroF
3-deoxy-D-arabino-heptulosonate-7-phosphate synthase, tyrosine-repressible; Stereospecific condensation of phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) and D-erythrose-4-phosphate (E4P) giving rise to 3-deoxy-D-arabino- heptulosonate-7-phosphate (DAHP)

 0.732
sstT
Sodium:serine/threonine symporter; Involved in the import of serine and threonine into the cell, with the concomitant import of sodium (symport system)

 0.711
trpE
Part of a heterotetrameric complex that catalyzes the two- step biosynthesis of anthranilate, an intermediate in the biosynthesis of L-tryptophan. In the first step, the glutamine-binding beta subunit (TrpG) of anthranilate synthase (AS) provides the glutamine amidotransferase activity which generates ammonia as a substrate that, along with chorismate, is used in the second step, catalyzed by the large alpha subunit of AS (TrpE) to produce anthranilate. In the absence of TrpG, TrpE can synthesize anthranilate directly from chorismate and high concentrations of ammonia

 0.696
tyrB
Tyrosine aminotransferase, tyrosine-repressible, plp-dependent; Broad-specificity enzyme that catalyzes the transamination of 2-ketoisocaproate, p-hydroxyphenylpyruvate, and phenylpyruvate to yield leucine, tyrosine, and phenylalanine, respectively. In vitro, is able to catalyze the conversion of beta-methyl phenylpyruvate to the nonproteinogenic amino acid (2S,3S)-beta-methyl-phenylalanine, a building block of the antibiotic mannopeptimycin produced by Streptomyces hygroscopicus NRRL3085

 0.606
aroL
Shikimate kinase ii; Catalyzes the specific phosphorylation of the 3-hydroxyl group of shikimic acid using ATP as a cosubstrate
