STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

Exo5Exonuclease V; Single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) bidirectional exonuclease involved in DNA repair. Probably involved in DNA repair following ultraviolet (UV) irradiation and interstrand cross-links (ICLs) damage. Has both 5'-3' and 3'-5' exonuclease activities with a strong preference for 5'-ends. Acts as a sliding exonuclease that loads at ssDNA ends and then slides along the ssDNA prior to cutting; however the sliding and the 3'-5' exonuclease activities are abolished upon binding to the replication protein A (RPA) complex that enforces 5'- directionality activity (By similarity). (373 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
Sppl2c
Signal peptide peptidase-like 2C; Intramembrane-cleaving aspartic protease (I-CLiP) that may be able to cleave type II membrane signal peptides in the hydrophobic plane of the membrane.

Gpank1
G patch domain and ankyrin repeat-containing protein 1.

 0.550
Olfr522
Olfactory receptor.

 0.538
Eepd1
Endonuclease/exonuclease/phosphatase family domain-containing protein 1.

 0.535
Kansl1
KAT8 regulatory NSL complex subunit 1; As part of the NSL complex it is involved in acetylation of nucleosomal histone H4 on several lysine residues and therefore may be involved in the regulation of transcription.

 0.476
Exog
Nuclease EXOG, mitochondrial; Endo/exonuclease with nicking activity towards supercoiled DNA, a preference for single-stranded DNA and 5'-3' exonuclease activity.

 0.459
Rexo2
Oligoribonuclease, mitochondrial; 3'-to-5' exoribonuclease specific for small oligoribonucleotides. Active on small (primarily </=5 nucleotides in length) single-stranded RNA and DNA oligomers. May have a role for cellular nucleotide recycling (By similarity); Belongs to the oligoribonuclease family.

 0.456
Fam110a
Protein FAM110A; Belongs to the FAM110 family.

 0.452
Endov
Endonuclease V; Endoribonuclease that specifically cleaves inosine-containing RNAs: cleaves RNA at the second phosphodiester bond 3' to inosine. Has strong preference for single-stranded RNAs (ssRNAs) toward double- stranded RNAs (dsRNAs). Cleaves mRNAs and tRNAs containing inosine. Also able to cleave structure-specific dsRNA substrates containing the specific sites 5'-IIUI-3' and 5'-UIUU-3'. Inosine is present in a number of RNAs following editing; the function of inosine-specific endoribonuclease is still unclear: it could either play a regulatory role in edited RNAs, or be involved [...]
