STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

radADNA repair protein RadA; DNA-dependent ATPase involved in processing of recombination intermediates, plays a role in repairing DNA breaks. Stimulates the branch migration of RecA-mediated strand transfer reactions, allowing the 3' invading strand to extend heteroduplex DNA faster. Binds ssDNA in the presence of ADP but not other nucleotides, has ATPase activity that is stimulated by ssDNA and various branched DNA structures, but inhibited by SSB. Does not have RecA's homology-searching function. (415 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
KXU59340.1
Regulatory protein RecX; KEGG: erh:ERH_0631 1.9e-11 bifunctional group 1 glycosyl transferase/recombination regulator RecX; K03429 1,2-diacylglycerol 3-glucosyltransferase; Psort location: Cytoplasmic, score: 8.96.

 0.789
recA
RecA protein; Can catalyze the hydrolysis of ATP in the presence of single- stranded DNA, the ATP-dependent uptake of single-stranded DNA by duplex DNA, and the ATP-dependent hybridization of homologous single-stranded DNAs. It interacts with LexA causing its activation and leading to its autocatalytic cleavage (By similarity); Belongs to the RecA family.

 0.785
Dut
dUTP diphosphatase; This enzyme is involved in nucleotide metabolism: it produces dUMP, the immediate precursor of thymidine nucleotides and it decreases the intracellular concentration of dUTP so that uracil cannot be incorporated into DNA.

 0.699
pcrA
KEGG: stf:Ssal_01088 0. uvrD; ATP-dependent DNA helicase PcrA; K03657 DNA helicase II / ATP-dependent DNA helicase PcrA; Psort location: Cytoplasmic, score: 9.97.

 0.682
KXU58333.1
Hypothetical protein.
       0.599
uvrC
Excinuclease ABC, C subunit; The UvrABC repair system catalyzes the recognition and processing of DNA lesions. UvrC both incises the 5' and 3' sides of the lesion. The N-terminal half is responsible for the 3' incision and the C-terminal half is responsible for the 5' incision.

 0.590
KXU58331.1
Hypothetical protein; KEGG: gpo:GPOL_c18530 8.4e-05 putative pyrazinamidase/nicotinamidase; K08281 nicotinamidase/pyrazinamidase.
       0.573
polA
DNA-directed DNA polymerase; In addition to polymerase activity, this DNA polymerase exhibits 5'-3' exonuclease activity.

 0.569
KXU56793.1
DNA internalization competence protein ComEC/Rec2-like protein; Psort location: CytoplasmicMembrane, score: 10.00.

 0.510
recN
DNA repair protein RecN; May be involved in recombinational repair of damaged DNA.

 0.507
