STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

radADNA repair protein RadA; DNA-dependent ATPase involved in processing of recombination intermediates, plays a role in repairing DNA breaks. Stimulates the branch migration of RecA-mediated strand transfer reactions, allowing the 3' invading strand to extend heteroduplex DNA faster. Binds ssDNA in the presence of ADP but not other nucleotides, has ATPase activity that is stimulated by ssDNA and various branched DNA structures, but inhibited by SSB. Does not have RecA's homology-searching function. (463 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
KRN05919.1
PilT family ATPase.

    0.900
recA
Recombinase A; Can catalyze the hydrolysis of ATP in the presence of single- stranded DNA, the ATP-dependent uptake of single-stranded DNA by duplex DNA, and the ATP-dependent hybridization of homologous single-stranded DNAs. It interacts with LexA causing its activation and leading to its autocatalytic cleavage; Belongs to the RecA family.

 0.882
recX
Recombination regulator RecX; Modulates RecA activity; Belongs to the RecX family.

 0.837
KRN05917.1
Deoxyuridine 5-triphosphate nucleotidohydrolase; This enzyme is involved in nucleotide metabolism: it produces dUMP, the immediate precursor of thymidine nucleotides and it decreases the intracellular concentration of dUTP so that uracil cannot be incorporated into DNA.

 0.813
gltX
glutamyl-tRNA synthetase; Catalyzes the attachment of glutamate to tRNA(Glu) in a two- step reaction: glutamate is first activated by ATP to form Glu-AMP and then transferred to the acceptor end of tRNA(Glu); Belongs to the class-I aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family. Glutamate--tRNA ligase type 1 subfamily.

     0.743
polA
DNA polymerase I; In addition to polymerase activity, this DNA polymerase exhibits 5'-3' exonuclease activity.

 0.708
KRN05791.1
ATP-dependent DNA helicase.

 0.669
KRN05923.1
tRNA rRNA methyltransferase; Belongs to the class IV-like SAM-binding methyltransferase superfamily. RNA methyltransferase TrmH family.

     0.645
mrnC
Hypothetical protein; Involved in correct processing of both the 5' and 3' ends of 23S rRNA precursor. Processes 30S rRNA precursor transcript even in absence of ribonuclease 3 (Rnc); Rnc processes 30S rRNA into smaller rRNA precursors; Belongs to the MrnC RNase family.

     0.625
KRN06169.1
DNA repair protein; Belongs to the UPF0758 family.

 0.611
