STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

PSM36_3148TraB family; pAD1 is a hemolysin/bacteriocin plasmid originally identified in Enterococcus faecalis DS16. It encodes a mating response to a peptide sex pheromone, cAD1, secreted by recipient bacteria. Once the plasmid pAD1 is acquired, production of the pheromone ceases-a trait related in part to a determinant designated traB. However a related protein is found in C. elegans, suggesting that members of the TraB family have some more general function. This family also includes the bacterial GumN protein. The family has a conserved GXXH motif close to the N-terminus, a conserved glutamat [...] (303 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
PSM36_3147
Putative membrane protein.
       0.587
PSM36_1311
TonB-dependent receptor plug domain-containing protein; This family includes proteins annotated as TonB dependent receptors. But it is also likely to contain other membrane beta barrel proteins of other functions; High confidence in function and specificity.

PSM36_1333
Putative membrane protein.

PSM36_1806
RNR_activ_nrdG3; Members of this family represent a set of radical SAM enzymes related to, yet architecturally different from, the activating protein for the glycine radical-containing, oxygen-sensitive ribonucleoside-triphosphate reductase (RNR) as described in model TIGR02491. Members of this family are found paired with members of a similarly divergent set of anaerobic ribonucleoside-triphosphate reductases. Identification of this protein as an RNR activitating protein is partly from pairing with a candidate RNR. It is further supported by our finding that upstream of these operons [...]
