STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

AKU14156.1Phosphotransferase system mannitol/fructose-specific IIA domain-containing protein. (167 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
hprK
HPr kinase/phosphorylase; Catalyzes the ATP- as well as the pyrophosphate-dependent phosphorylation of a specific serine residue in HPr, a phosphocarrier protein of the phosphoenolpyruvate-dependent sugar phosphotransferase system (PTS). HprK/P also catalyzes the pyrophosphate-producing, inorganic phosphate-dependent dephosphorylation (phosphorolysis) of seryl-phosphorylated HPr (P-Ser-HPr).

 0.945
AKU14536.1
Sugar transport PTS system phosphocarrier protein HPr.

 0.888
AKU14155.1
Sigma-54 modulation protein / S30EA ribosomal protein.

 0.862
AKU14537.1
PEP-utilizing enzyme, component EI of PTS system; General (non sugar-specific) component of the phosphoenolpyruvate-dependent sugar phosphotransferase system (sugar PTS). This major carbohydrate active-transport system catalyzes the phosphorylation of incoming sugar substrates concomitantly with their translocation across the cell membrane. Enzyme I transfers the phosphoryl group from phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) to the phosphoryl carrier protein (HPr).

 0.862
AKU10341.1
Hypothetical protein; Displays ATPase and GTPase activities.

 0.827
AKU14154.1
RNA polymerase factor sigma-54; Sigma factors are initiation factors that promote the attachment of RNA polymerase to specific initiation sites and are then released.

 0.794
AKU14535.1
Putative IIA component of sugar transport PTS system.

 0.763
AKU13657.1
Hypothetical protein.

 0.570
ilvA
Threonine dehydratase; Catalyzes the anaerobic formation of alpha-ketobutyrate and ammonia from threonine in a two-step reaction. The first step involved a dehydration of threonine and a production of enamine intermediates (aminocrotonate), which tautomerizes to its imine form (iminobutyrate). Both intermediates are unstable and short-lived. The second step is the nonenzymatic hydrolysis of the enamine/imine intermediates to form 2- ketobutyrate and free ammonia. In the low water environment of the cell, the second step is accelerated by RidA.
