STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

STY1825Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase A; Catalyzes the oxidative phosphorylation of glyceraldehyde 3- phosphate (G3P) to 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate (BPG) using the cofactor NAD. The first reaction step involves the formation of a hemiacetal intermediate between G3P and a cysteine residue, and this hemiacetal intermediate is then oxidized to a thioester, with concomitant reduction of NAD to NADH. The reduced NADH is then exchanged with the second NAD, and the thioester is attacked by a nucleophilic inorganic phosphate to produce BPG. (331 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
STY3789
Triosephosphate isomerase; Involved in the gluconeogenesis. Catalyzes stereospecifically the conversion of dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) to D- glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (G3P); Belongs to the triosephosphate isomerase family.
 0.996
STY3227
Phosphoglycerate kinase; Orthologue of E. coli pgk (PGK_ECOLI); Fasta hit to PGK_ECOLI (386 aa), 98% identity in 386 aa overlap; Belongs to the phosphoglycerate kinase family.

 0.995
STY3226
Fructose 1,6-bisphosphate aldolase; Catalyzes the aldol condensation of dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP or glycerone-phosphate) with glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate (G3P) to form fructose 1,6-bisphosphate (FBP) in gluconeogenesis and the reverse reaction in glycolysis; Belongs to the class II fructose-bisphosphate aldolase family.

 0.993
STY4417
Similar to Escherichia coli glucose-6-phosphate isomerase pgi SW:G6PI_ECOLI (P11537) (549 aa) fasta scores: E(): 0, 95.3% id in 548 aa, and to Haemophilus influenzae glucose-6-phosphate isomerase pgi SW:G6PI_HAEIN (P44312) (563 aa) fasta scores: E(): 0, 75.4% id in 549 aa; Belongs to the GPI family.

 0.987
STY3539
Malate dehydrogenase; Catalyzes the reversible oxidation of malate to oxaloacetate.

 0.958
STY3081
Enolase; Catalyzes the reversible conversion of 2-phosphoglycerate into phosphoenolpyruvate. It is essential for the degradation of carbohydrates via glycolysis.

 0.931
STY2094
Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase; Catalyzes the oxidation of glucose 6-phosphate to 6- phosphogluconolactone.

 0.918
fbaB
Similar to Escherichia coli fructose-bisphosphate aldolase class I FbaB or DhnA SW:ALF1_ECOLI (P71295) (349 aa) fasta scores: E(): 0, 96.0% id in 349 aa; Orthologue of E. coli ALF1_ECOLI; Fasta hit to ALF1_ECOLI (349 aa), 96% identity in 349 aa overlap.

 0.914
STY3467
Protein chain initiation factor 2; One of the essential components for the initiation of protein synthesis. Protects formylmethionyl-tRNA from spontaneous hydrolysis and promotes its binding to the 30S ribosomal subunits. Also involved in the hydrolysis of GTP during the formation of the 70S ribosomal complex; Belongs to the TRAFAC class translation factor GTPase superfamily. Classic translation factor GTPase family. IF-2 subfamily.

 0.912
STY1091
Outer membrane protein A; With TolR probably plays a role in maintaining the position of the peptidoglycan cell wall in the periplasm. Acts as a porin with low permeability that allows slow penetration of small solutes; an internal gate slows down solute passage.
