STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

TEF1Elongation factor 1-alpha; GTP-binding component of the eukaryotic elongation factor 1 complex (eEF1). In its active GTP-bound form, binds to and delivers aminoacyl-tRNA to the A-site of ribosomes during protein biosynthesis. In the presence of a correct codon-anticodon match between the aminoacyl-tRNA and the A-site codon of the ribosome-bound mRNA, the ribosome acts as a GTPase activator and the GTP is hydrolyzed. The inactive GDP-bound form leaves the ribosome and must be recycled by its guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) (eEF1B subcomplex) before binding another molecule of a [...] (471 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
HSF
Probable heat shock factor protein homolog; DNA-binding protein that specifically binds heat shock promoter elements (HSE) and activates transcription.

 0.983
GSP1
GTP-binding nuclear protein GSP1; GTP-binding protein involved in nucleocytoplasmic transport. Required for the import of protein into the nucleus and also for RNA export (By similarity); Belongs to the small GTPase superfamily. Ran family.

Q8SQX6_ENCCU
40S RIBOSOMAL PROTEIN S20.

 0.957
EFT1
Elongation factor 2; Catalyzes the GTP-dependent ribosomal translocation step during translation elongation. During this step, the ribosome changes from the pre-translocational (PRE) to the post-translocational (POST) state as the newly formed A-site-bound peptidyl-tRNA and P-site-bound deacylated tRNA move to the P and E sites, respectively. Catalyzes the coordinated movement of the two tRNA molecules, the mRNA and conformational changes in the ribosome (By similarity); Belongs to the TRAFAC class translation factor GTPase superfamily. Classic translation factor GTPase family. EF-G/EF [...]

40S RIBOSOMAL PROTEIN S2; Belongs to the universal ribosomal protein uS5 family.

 0.930
RPS6
40S ribosomal protein S6.

 0.924
RPS0
40S ribosomal protein S0; Required for the assembly and/or stability of the 40S ribosomal subunit. Required for the processing of the 20S rRNA- precursor to mature 18S rRNA in a late step of the maturation of 40S ribosomal subunits; Belongs to the universal ribosomal protein uS2 family.

 0.922
