STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.

RNPAPutative RNase P protein component; RNaseP catalyzes the removal of the 5'-leader sequence from pre-tRNA to produce the mature 5'-terminus. It can also cleave other RNA substrates such as 4.5S RNA. The protein component plays an auxiliary but essential role in vivo by binding to the 5'-leader sequence and broadening the substrate specificity of the ribozyme. (118 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
VV0003
Putative inner membrane protein, 60 kDa; Required for the insertion and/or proper folding and/or complex formation of integral membrane proteins into the membrane. Involved in integration of membrane proteins that insert both dependently and independently of the Sec translocase complex, as well as at least some lipoproteins. Aids folding of multispanning membrane proteins.

 0.980
PLU4864
Putative ribosomal protein L28; Predicted by orpheus program; predicted by glimmer program; Belongs to the bacterial ribosomal protein bL28 family.

 0.915
S4411
Putative ribosomal protein L4; One of the primary rRNA binding proteins, this protein initially binds near the 5'-end of the 23S rRNA. It is important during the early stages of 50S assembly. It makes multiple contacts with different domains of the 23S rRNA in the assembled 50S subunit and ribosome.

 0.904
PLU0589
Putative ribosomal protein S20; Binds directly to 16S ribosomal RNA.

    0.903
RPSA
Putative ribosomal protein S1; Binds mRNA; thus facilitating recognition of the initiation point. It is needed to translate mRNA with a short Shine-Dalgarno (SD) purine-rich sequence.

 0.901
PLU1257
Putative ribosomal protein S16; Predicted by orpheus program; predicted by glimmer program; Belongs to the bacterial ribosomal protein bS16 family.

 0.896
rpsJ
Putative ribosomal protein S10; Involved in the binding of tRNA to the ribosomes. Belongs to the universal ribosomal protein uS10 family.

    0.889
rplC
Putative ribosomal protein L3; One of the primary rRNA binding proteins, it binds directly near the 3'-end of the 23S rRNA, where it nucleates assembly of the 50S subunit.

 0.884
Y0361
Putative transcription termination factor; Facilitates transcription termination by a mechanism that involves Rho binding to the nascent RNA, activation of Rho's RNA- dependent ATPase activity, and release of the mRNA from the DNA template.

 0.883
VV3032
Putative ribosomal protein S12; With S4 and S5 plays an important role in translational accuracy.
