STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

rdgBNon-canonical purine NTP pyrophosphatase, RdgB/HAM1 family; Pyrophosphatase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of nucleoside triphosphates to their monophosphate derivatives, with a high preference for the non-canonical purine nucleotides XTP (xanthosine triphosphate), dITP (deoxyinosine triphosphate) and ITP. Seems to function as a house-cleaning enzyme that removes non-canonical purine nucleotides from the nucleotide pool, thus preventing their incorporation into DNA/RNA and avoiding chromosomal lesions. Belongs to the HAM1 NTPase family. (203 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
rph
tRNA nucleotidyltransferase; Phosphorolytic 3'-5' exoribonuclease that plays an important role in tRNA 3'-end maturation. Removes nucleotide residues following the 3'-CCA terminus of tRNAs; can also add nucleotides to the ends of RNA molecules by using nucleoside diphosphates as substrates, but this may not be physiologically important. Probably plays a role in initiation of 16S rRNA degradation (leading to ribosome degradation) during starvation.

  0.994
guaA
GMP synthase (glutamine-hydrolyzing) domain protein; Catalyzes the synthesis of GMP from XMP.

 0.962
murI
Glutamate racemase; Provides the (R)-glutamate required for cell wall biosynthesis.

  0.932
EFB91660.1
Inosine 5-monophosphate dehydrogenase; Identified by match to protein family HMM PF00478; match to protein family HMM PF00571.

 0.922
EFB91420.1
5'-nucleotidase, C-terminal domain protein; Identified by match to protein family HMM PF00149; match to protein family HMM PF02872; Belongs to the 5'-nucleotidase family.

  0.905
EFB91757.1
Hypothetical protein; 2.4.2.22.

 0.831
purA
Adenylosuccinate synthase; Plays an important role in the de novo pathway of purine nucleotide biosynthesis. Catalyzes the first committed step in the biosynthesis of AMP from IMP; Belongs to the adenylosuccinate synthetase family.

 0.827
hpt
Hypoxanthine phosphoribosyltransferase; Identified by match to protein family HMM PF00156; match to protein family HMM TIGR01203; Belongs to the purine/pyrimidine phosphoribosyltransferase family.

 0.803
dut
dUTP diphosphatase; This enzyme is involved in nucleotide metabolism: it produces dUMP, the immediate precursor of thymidine nucleotides and it decreases the intracellular concentration of dUTP so that uracil cannot be incorporated into DNA; Belongs to the dUTPase family.

 0.700
nusG
Transcription termination/antitermination factor NusG; Participates in transcription elongation, termination and antitermination.
