STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

Predicted Functional Partners:
secY
Preprotein translocase, SecY subunit; The central subunit of the protein translocation channel SecYEG. Consists of two halves formed by TMs 1-5 and 6-10. These two domains form a lateral gate at the front which open onto the bilayer between TMs 2 and 7, and are clamped together by SecE at the back. The channel is closed by both a pore ring composed of hydrophobic SecY resides and a short helix (helix 2A) on the extracellular side of the membrane which forms a plug. The plug probably moves laterally to allow the channel to open. The ring and the pore may move independently.

 0.940
secG
Preprotein translocase, SecG subunit; Involved in protein export. Participates in an early event of protein translocation; Belongs to the SecG family.

 0.936
EDS74067.1
PAP2 family protein; KEGG: spk:MGAS9429_Spy1565 1.1e-17 phosphatidylglycerophosphatase B K01094; COG: COG0671 Membrane-associated phospholipid phosphatase; Psort location: CytoplasmicMembrane, score: 9.26.
       0.741
polA
DNA-directed DNA polymerase; In addition to polymerase activity, this DNA polymerase exhibits 5'-3' exonuclease activity.

 0.738
EDS74808.1
Hypothetical protein; KEGG: saa:SAUSA300_0964 0.00026 chitinase-related protein K01183; COG: COG1426 Uncharacterized protein conserved in bacteria; Psort location: Cytoplasmic, score: 8.87.

 0.732
rplW
Ribosomal protein L23; One of the early assembly proteins it binds 23S rRNA. One of the proteins that surrounds the polypeptide exit tunnel on the outside of the ribosome. Forms the main docking site for trigger factor binding to the ribosome; Belongs to the universal ribosomal protein uL23 family.

 0.727
rpmC
COG: COG0255 Ribosomal protein L29; Psort location: Cytoplasmic, score: 8.87; Belongs to the universal ribosomal protein uL29 family.

 0.721
EDS74318.1
Hypothetical protein; COG: NOG23360 non supervised orthologous group.

 0.717
acpP
Acyl carrier protein; Carrier of the growing fatty acid chain in fatty acid biosynthesis.

 0.678
rplV
Ribosomal protein L22; The globular domain of the protein is located near the polypeptide exit tunnel on the outside of the subunit, while an extended beta-hairpin is found that lines the wall of the exit tunnel in the center of the 70S ribosome.
