CAX4Dolichyl pyrophosphate (Dol-P-P) phosphatase with a luminally oriented active site in the ER, cleaves the anhydride linkage in Dol-P-P, required for Dol-P-P-linked oligosaccharide intermediate synthesis and protein N-glycosylation; Non-essential protein which is required for efficient N- glycosylation. Necessary for maintaining optimal levels of dolichol-linked oligosaccharides. Hydrolyzes dolichyl pyrophosphate at a very high rate and dolichyl monophosphate at a much lower rate.
