STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

rapZglmZ(sRNA)-inactivating NTPase; Modulates the synthesis of GlmS, by affecting the processing and stability of the regulatory small RNA GlmZ. When glucosamine-6- phosphate (GlcN6P) concentrations are high in the cell, RapZ binds GlmZ and targets it to cleavage by RNase E. Consequently, GlmZ is inactivated and unable to activate GlmS synthesis. Under low GlcN6P concentrations, RapZ is sequestered and inactivated by an other regulatory small RNA, GlmY, preventing GlmZ degradation and leading to synthesis of GlmS; Belongs to the RapZ-like family. RapZ subfamily. (284 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
ptsN
PTS system nitrogen regulatory protein IIA(Ntr); Seems to have a role in regulating nitrogen assimilation.

 0.873
ptsO
Phosphohistidinoprotein-hexose phosphotransferase; Component of the phosphoenolpyruvate-dependent nitrogen- metabolic phosphotransferase system (nitrogen-metabolic PTS), that seems to be involved in regulating nitrogen metabolism. The phosphoryl group from phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) is transferred to the phosphoryl carrier protein NPr by enzyme I-Ntr. Phospho-NPr then transfers it to EIIA-Ntr. Could function in the transcriptional regulation of sigma-54 dependent operons in conjunction with the NPr (PtsO) and EIIA-Ntr (PtsN) proteins; Belongs to the HPr family.

 0.870
rne
Ribonuclease E; Endoribonuclease that plays a central role in RNA processing and decay. Required for the maturation of 5S and 16S rRNAs and the majority of tRNAs. Also involved in the degradation of most mRNAs. Belongs to the RNase E/G family. RNase E subfamily.

 0.851
hpf
Ribosome hibernation promoting factor HPF; During stationary phase, promotes and stabilizes dimerization of 70S ribosomes by the ribosome modulation factor (RMF), leading to the formation of inactive 100S ribosomes. Belongs to the HPF/YfiA ribosome-associated protein family. Short HPF subfamily.

 0.794
AKL37355.1
Hypothetical protein; Required for morphogenesis under gluconeogenic growth conditions; Belongs to the gluconeogenesis factor family.

 0.787
AKL37011.1
PTS fructose transporter subunit IIA; Phosphotransferase system, enzyme I; transfers the phosphoryl group from phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) to the phosphoryl carrier protein HPr; HPr transfers the phosphoryl group to subunit A; subunit IIA transfers a phosphoryl group to subunit IIB; subunit IIB transfers the phosphoryl group to the substrate; part of the phosphoenolpyruvate-dependent sugar phosphotransferase system (PTS), a major carbohydrate active-transport system; Derived by automated computational analysis using gene prediction method: Protein Homology.

 0.757
rodZ
Cytoskeletal protein RodZ; Cytoskeletal protein that is involved in cell-shape control through regulation of the length of the long axis.

 0.679
fruA_1
FrvA; Derived by automated computational analysis using gene prediction method: Protein Homology.

 0.671
rng
Involved in the processing of the 5'end of 16S rRNA; Derived by automated computational analysis using gene prediction method: Protein Homology.

 0.669
glmM
Phosphoglucosamine mutase; Catalyzes the conversion of glucosamine-6-phosphate to glucosamine-1-phosphate; Belongs to the phosphohexose mutase family.
