Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.

ccatRNA nucleotidyltransferase (cca); Catalyzes the addition and repair of the essential 3'- terminal CCA sequence in tRNAs without using a nucleic acid template. Adds these three nucleotides in the order of C, C, and A to the tRNA nucleotide-73, using CTP and ATP as substrates and producing inorganic pyrophosphate. Also shows phosphatase, 2'-nucleotidase and 2',3'-cyclic phosphodiesterase activities. These phosphohydrolase activities are probably involved in the repair of the tRNA 3'-CCA terminus degraded by intracellular RNases. (416 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
HI_1605
Conserved hypothetical protein; Similar to SP:P39202 PID:1203798 GB:U00096 PID:1789435 percent identity: 40.72; identified by sequence similarity; putative.

 0.850
cpdB
2',3'-cyclic-nucleotide 2'-phosphodiesterase (cpdB); This bifunctional enzyme catalyzes two consecutive reactions during ribonucleic acid degradation. Converts a 2',3'-cyclic nucleotide to a 3'-nucleotide and then the 3'-nucleotide to the corresponding nucleoside and phosphate (By similarity).

 0.729
sspB
Stringent starvation protein B (sspB); Enhances recognition of ssrA-tagged proteins by the ClpX-ClpP protease; the ssrA degradation tag (AANDENYALAA) is added trans- translationally to proteins that are stalled on the ribosome, freeing the ribosome and targeting stalled peptides for degradation. SspB activates the ATPase activity of ClpX. Seems to act in concert with SspA in the regulation of several proteins during exponential and stationary-phase growth (By similarity).

     0.684
dapB
Dihydrodipicolinate reductase (dapB); Catalyzes the conversion of 4-hydroxy-tetrahydrodipicolinate (HTPA) to tetrahydrodipicolinate.

    0.624
cpdA
lacZ expression regulator (icc); Hydrolyzes cAMP to 5'-AMP. Plays an important regulatory role in modulating the intracellular concentration of cAMP, thereby influencing cAMP-dependent processes. May coordinate responses to nutritional stress, ensuring optimal competence development. Belongs to the cAMP phosphodiesterase class-III family.

 0.605
birA
Biotin operon repressor/biotin acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase synthetase (birA); Acts both as a biotin--[acetyl-CoA-carboxylase] ligase and a biotin-operon repressor. In the presence of ATP, BirA activates biotin to form the BirA-biotinyl-5'-adenylate (BirA-bio-5'-AMP or holoBirA) complex. HoloBirA can either transfer the biotinyl moiety to the biotin carboxyl carrier protein (BCCP) subunit of acetyl-CoA carboxylase, or bind to the biotin operator site and inhibit transcription of the operon.

 0.600
prs
Phosphoribosylpyrophosphate synthetase (prsA); Involved in the biosynthesis of the central metabolite phospho-alpha-D-ribosyl-1-pyrophosphate (PRPP) via the transfer of pyrophosphoryl group from ATP to 1-hydroxyl of ribose-5-phosphate (Rib- 5-P); Belongs to the ribose-phosphate pyrophosphokinase family. Class I subfamily.

    0.593
mgsA
Methylglyoxal synthase (mgsA); Catalyzes the formation of methylglyoxal from dihydroxyacetone phosphate.

    0.587
lolB
hemM protein (hemM); Plays a critical role in the incorporation of lipoproteins in the outer membrane after they are released by the LolA protein.
       0.586
holA
DNA polymerase III, delta subunit (holA); DNA polymerase III is a complex, multichain enzyme responsible for most of the replicative synthesis in bacteria. This DNA polymerase also exhibits 3' to 5' exonuclease activity. The delta subunit seems to interact with the gamma subunit to transfer the beta subunit on the DNA (By similarity).
