STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

mcmbpMini-chromosome maintenance complex-binding protein; Associated component of the mcm complex that acts as a regulator of DNA replication. Binds to the MCM complex during late S phase and promotes the disassembly of the mcm complex from chromatin, thereby acting as a key regulator of pre-replication complex (pre-RC) unloading from replicated DNA. Can dissociate the mcm complex without addition of ATP; probably acts by destabilizing interactions of each individual subunits of the mcm complex. Required for sister chromatid cohesion (By similarity). (631 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
mcm3
DNA helicase; Belongs to the MCM family.

mcm4
DNA helicase; Belongs to the MCM family.

mcm7
DNA replication licensing factor MCM7; Acts as component of the mcm2-7 complex (mcm complex) which is the putative replicative helicase essential for 'once per cell cycle' DNA replication initiation and elongation in eukaryotic cells. The active ATPase sites in the mcm2-7 ring are formed through the interaction surfaces of two neighboring subunits such that a critical structure of a conserved arginine finger motif is provided in trans relative to the ATP-binding site of the Walker A box of the adjacent subunit. The six ATPase active sites, however, are likely to contribute differential [...]

mcm6
DNA helicase; Belongs to the MCM family.

 0.954
mcm2
DNA helicase; Belongs to the MCM family.

 0.953
mcm8
Minichromosome maintenance 8 homologous recombination repair factor; Belongs to the MCM family.

 0.928
mcm9
DNA helicase MCM9; Component of the MCM8-MCM9 complex, a complex involved in homologous recombination repair following DNA interstrand cross-links and plays a key role during gametogenesis. The MCM8-MCM9 complex probably acts as a hexameric helicase required to process aberrant forks into homologous recombination substrates and to orchestrate homologous recombination with resection, fork stabilization and fork restart (By similarity).
