STRINGSTRING
STRING protein interaction network
Nodes:
Network nodes represent proteins
splice isoforms or post-translational modifications are collapsed, i.e. each node represents all the proteins produced by a single, protein-coding gene locus.
Node Color
colored nodes:
query proteins and first shell of interactors
white nodes:
second shell of interactors
Node Content
empty nodes:
proteins of unknown 3D structure
filled nodes:
a 3D structure is known or predicted
Edges:
Edges represent protein-protein associations
associations are meant to be specific and meaningful, i.e. proteins jointly contribute to a shared function; this does not necessarily mean they are physically binding to each other.
Known Interactions
from curated databases
experimentally determined
Predicted Interactions
gene neighborhood
gene fusions
gene co-occurrence
Others
textmining
co-expression
protein homology

BLVRABiliverdin reductase A. (438 aa)
Predicted Functional Partners:
HMOX2
Heme oxygenase; Heme oxygenase cleaves the heme ring at the alpha methene bridge to form biliverdin. Biliverdin is subsequently converted to bilirubin by biliverdin reductase.

 0.980
BLVRB
Flavin reductase (NADPH).

 0.949
LOC100515394
UDP-glucuronosyltransferase; Belongs to the UDP-glycosyltransferase family.

 0.906
UGT2B31
UDP-glucuronosyltransferase; Belongs to the UDP-glycosyltransferase family.

 0.904
LOC100623255
Uncharacterized protein.

 0.904
LOC100624891
UDPGT domain-containing protein; Belongs to the UDP-glycosyltransferase family.

 0.904
LOC100515741
UDP-glucuronosyltransferase; Belongs to the UDP-glycosyltransferase family.

 0.904
LOC100623504
UDP-glucuronosyltransferase; Belongs to the UDP-glycosyltransferase family.

 0.904
HMOX1
Heme oxygenase 1; Heme oxygenase cleaves the heme ring at the alpha methene bridge to form biliverdin. Biliverdin is subsequently converted to bilirubin by biliverdin reductase. Under physiological conditions, the activity of heme oxygenase is highest in the spleen, where senescent erythrocytes are sequestrated and destroyed. Exhibits cytoprotective effects since excess of free heme sensitizes cells to undergo apoptosis.

 0.813
RGN
Regucalcin; Gluconolactonase with low activity towards other sugar lactones, including gulonolactone and galactonolactone. Catalyzes a key step in ascorbic acid (vitamin C) biosynthesis. Can also hydrolyze diisopropyl phosphorofluoridate and phenylacetate (in vitro). Calcium- binding protein. Modulates Ca(2+) signaling, and Ca(2+)-dependent cellular processes and enzyme activities (By similarity). Belongs to the SMP-30/CGR1 family.
